James White Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Highway 189 in Lake Arrowhead

 
LAKE ARROWHEAD, CA (March 24, 2023) – Coroner’s officials identified 64-year-old James White of Blue Jay as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Highway 189 on March 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of the Blue Jay Cutoff around 7:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, White was walking along the highway when a vehicle heading west struck him. Subsequently, CHP officers said the driver fled the scene.
 
As a result, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Officers described the possible vehicle of interest as a dark-colored sports utility vehicle.
 
As of now, officials ask anyone with information on the crash to contact Officer R. Jedlick or Officer D. Gibson at the Arrowhead CHP office, at 909-867-2791.
