Three Vehicle Fatal Crash on Barnes Road in Colorado Springs

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (March 6, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle crash in the 4800 block of Barnes Road on February 27.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 5:59 PM. Based on a report, the first vehicle turned left from westbound Barnes prior to the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a second vehicle traveling eastbound hit it. Then, the collision caused a third vehicle to get hit.
 
As a result, a 17-year-old occupant of the second vehicle died in the incident. CSPD officers did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
 
Crews took the other occupants of the vehicles to local hospitals for treatment.
 
As of now, investigators are still in the process of determining whether or not alcohol or speed were factors.
