Motorcycle Rider Ian Chandler Involved in Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 in Orange

 
ORANGE, TX (February 17, 2023) – Officers confirmed that 20-year-old Ian Chandler of Mauriceville suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 62 on February 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened while Chandler was going southbound at the intersection of Texla Road.
 
Based on a report, a Nissan Altima going north failed to yield the right of way and turned in front of Chandler. Subsequently, he hit the Nissan, causing the Nissan to hit a Toyota Tacoma.
 
As a result, the victim sustained a collapsed lung, shattered pelvis, a brain bleed, and other internal injuries. Emergency crews airlifted him to St. Elizabeth in Beaumont before flying him again to Memorial Hermann in Houston due to the severity of his condition.
 
Crews also rushed the driver and passenger in the Nissan to St. Elizabeth, while the driver of the Toyota was not hurt in the crash.
