Robert Smith Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on FM 751 in Quinlan

 
QUINLAN, TX (February 16, 2023) – Officers identified 29-year-old Robert Smith of Shepherd as the victim who died in a motorcycle crash on FM 751 on February 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Farm to Market 429 around 7:42 PM. Based on a report, Smith was driving a 2007 Honda CBR motorcycle south on the roadway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 35-year-old Eric Velasquez of Quinlan was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound. As Velasquez approached the intersection, he failed to yield the right of way and Smith struck his Trailblazer.
 
As a result, Smith died in the incident after sustaining severe injuries.
 
Velasquez suffered non-incapacitating injuries and police booked him into Hunt County Detention Center on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
