Mary Tickell Killed in Car Crash on Highway 84 [Coryell County, TX]

74-Year-Old Mary Tickell Identified in Fatal Coryell County Accident on Highway 84

 
CORYELL COUNTY, TX (February 16, 2023) – Officers identified 74-year-old Mary Lee Tickell of Gatesville as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 84 on February 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Gatesville shortly before 10:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse that was exiting a private drive prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 34-year-old Gatesville man was driving a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 pickup eastbound on the highway. As the 68-year-old Traverse driver pulled onto the road, the pick-up truck struck its passenger side.
 
As a result, Justice of the Peace Coy Latham pronounced Tickell dead at the scene.
 
Officers did not release the injuries sustained in the crash.
 
As of now, no other details are available. In addition, the case remains under investigation.
