Man Dies After Garbage Truck Crash on Railroad Avenue near Winstrom Street

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 2, 2023) — A man died after a garbage truck accident on Railroad Avenue near Winstrom Street on Monday afternoon, January 30.

The fatal incident occurred at around 2:37 p.m., according to the Riverside Police Department Traffic Bureau. Authorities said a 2007 Toyota Scion sedan, driven by a 58-year-old man, traveled west on Railroad Avenue.

For reasons still unknown, it crossed into the eastbound lanes where it collided with the rear end of a parked garbage truck.

The male driver of the Toyota died at the scene.

The driver of the garbage truck, who was inside the parked vehicle, emerged from the collision unharmed.

The cause and factors surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
