Kyle Schwegel, 72-Year-Old Jesus Rodriguez Identified in Kern County Car Crash on Highway 65

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (January 3, 2022) – Officers identified 28-year-old Kyle Schwegel and 72-year-old Jesus Rodriguez as two of the victims who suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 65 on December 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at James Road around. Based on a report, Schwegel was driving a Dodge Ram heading south on the highway prior to the crash.
 
As he began making a left turn at the intersection, he collided with a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 40-year-old Jimmy Parham of Porterville. Then, the Silverado to hit Rodriguez’s Toyota Sienna.
 
As a result, Schwegel and Rodriguez both sustained minor injuries. Crews took them to Kern Medical for treatment. Both men are from Bakersfield. In addition, a 3-year-old child who was not secured in the Silverado ejected out of the window. The toddler suffered a broken rib.
 
Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash. As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
