CLEVELAND, TX (December 5, 2022) – 14-year-old and 16-year-old high school students sustained injuries after a DUI pedestrian accident on Houston Avenue on Thursday, December 1.

Based on the released statement from Cleveland Police, both students were walking back to Cleveland High School and crossing the street when a 2019 white Silverado pickup with commercial markings hit them.

Both victims were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston after sustaining critical injuries. The 16-year-old student suffered a broken jaw, broken leg, bruises and soreness, while the 14-year-old injured his ankle.

According to Cleveland ISD, both students have shown improvements and are in stable conditions.

Dillon Ray Lamb was tested for DUI after the crash and failed several impairment tests. Officials took him into custody and presented a search warrant to draw blood for further tests.

After appearing in court, officials officially charged Lamb with felony of the third degree. The judge set bail at $25,000.
