Crash of Two Trucks on State Highway 71 Leaves One Driver Dead, Another Injured

 
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX (October 18, 2022) – One person died while another was hospitalized after truck accident on State Highway 71 on October 3.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the crash happened at about 12:14 p.m. on the 25500 West State Highway 71. Two large trucks crashed into each other near Falls Creek Estates Drive and Paleface Ranch Road.

The driver of the first truck died at the scene, reports say.

STAR Flight sent the other driver to Dell Seton Medical Center after sustaining potentially life-threatening injuries.

ATCEMS advised motorists to take alternative routes to avoid delays due to the closure of State Highway 71 lanes.

Police are investigating the accident.
