One Died in Vernalis Rollover Car Crash on Interstate 5

 
VERNALIS, CA (October 18, 2022) – One person died following a rollover crash on Interstate 5 on Sunday evening, October 16.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Modesto officers received a call of the fatal accident around 10:00 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near the Westley Rest Area. Initial investigations revealed that a northbound vehicle driving at 75 mph veered off to the left of the road towards the dirt median.

This caused the vehicle to rollover, ejecting the passenger seated on the right out of the car.

The passenger – who was not wearing a seat belt – died at the scene, police confirmed.

The driver and another passenger suffered minor injuries but they refused hospital transportation.
