Lone Pine Car Crash on US 395 Leaves Two People Dead

 
LONE PINE, CA (August 9, 2022) — Two people were killed following a car crash on U.S. 395 on Saturday afternoon, July 16.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred on northbound U.S. 395 near South Haiwee Canyon Road at around 1:04 p.m.

The vehicles involved were identified as a 2020 Hyundai Sonata and a 2006 Freightliner.

Based on the reports, a 23-year-old man from Las Mesa, California was driving the Hyundai, which had a 22-year-old female passenger from Ashland, Ohio.

The two headed north on U.S. 395 when the Hyundai crashed into the back end of the Freightliner. It was reported that the Hyundai ran about 65 miles per hour while the Freightliner had a slower pace, which played a part in the collision.

The occupants of the Hyundai died during the crash.

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old driver of the Freightliner came out of the incident unharmed.

No further information is available at this time as investigations continue.
