Thurston County Head-On Crash on Old Pacific Highway; Rebecca McClain Identified

 
THURSTON COUNTY, WA (May 8, 2023) – Troopers identified 66-year-old Rebecca Andrade McClain of Rochester as the one who died in a crash on Old Pacific Highway on May 5.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 9:18 AM. Based on a report, McClain was driving a 1991 GMC Sonoma east on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Yelm woman was traveling west in a 2011 Honda Accord. As McClain approached a curve in the road, she crossed the center line and struck the Honda head-on.
 
As a result, McClain sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
 
The other woman, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with injuries.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
