DEL VALLE, TX (April 28, 2023) – The Austin Police Department confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on FM 973 on April 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened between the 2900 block and 3100 block of FM 973 at approximately 5:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, a vehicle struck the victim on the road. Officials did not yet release the details that led to the accident.
 
As a result, Austin-Travis County EMS d pronounced the person dead on the scene.
 
The incident also caused road closures and heavy delays for commuters in the area.
 
Austin Police said the driver of the vehicle that hit the person stayed on the scene.
