Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Milam Street at Walker Street in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (February 2, 2024) – The Houston Police Department confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on Milam Street on January 29.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Walker Street around 12:25 PM. Based on a report, the woman had the right of way when she crossed the intersection which are both one-way streets.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a man in a pickup that was going westbound on Walker Street hit her. At that point, the vehicle was making a left turn onto Milam Street. The driver remained at the scene.
 
As a result, the victim sustained grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital, where she died. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Police administered a field sobriety test before they released the driver.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
