Woman Dies After Being Hit by Car in Pedestrian Accident on 805 Freeway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 27, 2022) — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident on 805 Freeway on Sunday night, October 23.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred north of Del Sol Boulevard, near the Ocean View Hills area, at around 7:50 p.m.

Authorities said the 34-year-old woman traveled on the freeway lanes of 805 Freeway when a Toyota van, driven by a 51-year-old man collided with her.

The female pedestrian – whom officials identified as someone from Torrance – died at the scene. Officials withheld her identity until pending family notification.

Meanwhile, the Toyota driver did not flee the scene and opted to cooperate with the investigators.

CHP stated that driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs did not appear as a factor in the incident.

The cause of the collision, along with the circumstances behind it, remain under investigation.
