Ruben Gutierrez Dies after Borrego Springs Car Crash on Shell Reef Expressway

 
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (October 27, 2022) — Ruben Gutierrez died following a two-vehicle crash on Shell Reef Expressway on Saturday afternoon, October 22.

The fatal collision happened at around 3:31 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and pickup truck, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Authorities said the motorcycle being driven by 18-year-old Gutierrez from Mexico headed east on Shell Reef Expressway, where he collided with a westbound pickup truck.

Gutierrez died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck emerged from the incident uninjured.

No other information is disclosed at this time. However, the cause of the crash remain under investigation.
