Woman Killed, Man Critically Injured in Car Crash on East Jewell Avenue [Aurora, CO]

Fatal Aurora Car Crash on East Jewell Avenue at 470 Freeway

 
AURORA, CO (March 21, 2023) – Aurora Police confirmed that a man died in a crash on East Jewell Avenue on March 14.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened near the northbound exit ramp of 470 Freeway around 3:54 PM. Based on a report, a Mazda SUV was turning left from the northbound exit ramp of the freeway prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it turned in front of a Ford F-150 that was traveling eastbound on East Jewell Avenue.
 
As a result, the woman driving the Mazda suffered grave injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at a local hospital. Officials did not yet release her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Her male passenger sustained life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported him to the hospital in critical condition. The man driving the F-150 did not require hospitalization.
 
Investigators did not believe alcohol was a factor. As of now, an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
