DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 1st Avenue South in Seattle

 
SEATTLE, WA (October 2, 2023) – The Seattle Police Department confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on 1st Avenue South on September 28.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at South Lucille Street around 5:30 AM. Based on a report, a southbound vehicle struck the victim in the lanes.
 
Medics with the Seattle Fire Department arrived and rendered aid but the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
It is not yet known if she was in the street or on the roadside.
 
The 64-year-old male driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment.
 
Officers arrested him for investigation of vehicular homicide.
