SEATTLE, WA (October 2, 2023) – The Seattle Police Department confirmed a fatal pedestrian accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Way on September 28.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at South Morgan Street around 7:00 AM. Based on a report, a 65-year-old man was driving a Jeep south on Martin Luther King Jr. Way at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he hit a woman just a few blocks north of the Othello Link Light Rail Station. It’s unclear if she was in a crosswalk at the time.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Investigators said they did not yet know how fast the Jeep was going at the time of the crash.
