Woman Ejected, Killed in Fatal Car Crash on FM 1485 in New Caney

 
NEW CANEY, TX (April 20, 2023) – East Montgomery County officials confirmed that a 34-year-old Conroe woman died in a head-on crash on FM 1485 on April 6.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Gene Campbell Road shortly before 9:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving northbound on FM 1485 in a Toyota Corolla prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she hit the left-rear bumper of a Jeep, causing her Toyota to go into the oncoming lane of traffic and to roll over. Then, a Ford F-150 struck its passenger side and roof, ripping the vehicle open and ejecting her.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A male driver and a female passenger in the Ford F-150 required the JAWS power tool to remove them from the vehicle. Crews took the driver to a Kingwood hospital in critical condition. The woman driving the Jeep and her two children were not hurt.
 
Officers said speed and wet roads caused the crash. As of now, the case remains under investigation.
