Luis Rios Identified in Accident Involving Pickup Truck and Tractor-Trailer on Highway 137 in Stanton

 
STANTON, TX (April 20, 2023) – Officers identified 46-year-old Luis Gerardo Rios of San Antonio as the victim who died in an accident involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 137 on April 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 12:45 PM.
 
Based on a report, Rios was on the highway when he had stopped his truck on the east shoulder prior to the crash. At the same time, a truck tractor was traveling northbound on the same road behind him. When Rios made an unsafe U-turn, the truck tractor hit his vehicle.
 
As a result, Rios suffered grave injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS said he was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
 
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
