William Gourley Dies in Fatal Somerville Crash on State Park Road 57
SOMERVILLE, TX (September 22, 2022) – Police identified William Gourley as the victim who died in a crash on State Park Road 57 on September 18.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Birch Creek Unit State Park around 5:55 AM.
Based on a report, Gourley was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang southbound on the road prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, when the vehicle entered a curve, it lost control and struck a pole.
As a result, 38-year-old Gourley of Caldwell suffered grave injuries in the incident. Burleson County Justice of the Peace Robert Urbanosky pronounced him dead at the scene.
His passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital for treatment.
