William Duncan Arrested in Stolen Vehicle Crash in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 18, 2023) — Authorities arrested 30-year-old William Duncan, of Corning, after a stolen vehicle crash that injured five people on Saturday, May 13.
The incident took place at the intersection of East Truxtun Avenue at Beale Avenue at around 11:00 a.m. In the initial investigation, officers found out that Duncan drove an alleged stolen vehicle.
After that, he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle occupied by a woman and four children.
The woman and one of the children suffered a moderate injury. The three other children three had minor injuries. Paramedics transported them all to the hospital.
Authorities found Duncan with around two pounds of methamphetamine. They arrested him on suspicion of possession of stolen property, reckless driving, and related narcotics charges.
Emergency responders transported Duncan to a nearby hospital due to the incident. When he was medically cleared, officers booked him into the Kern County Jail.
