Victor Jacuinde-Garcia and Giovanni Vazquez Killed in Crash on Highway 95 [Nye County, NV]

Two out of Three Identified in Fatal Head-On Crash in Nye County

 
NYE COUNTY, NV (June 8, 2023) – Officials identified 22-year-old Victor Jacuinde-Garcia and 24-year-old Giovanni Vazquez who died in a crash on southbound Highway 95 on May 20.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at mile marker 10 around 9:25 PM. Based on a report, Jacuinde-Garcia was driving a Chevrolet Trax with Vazquez northbound on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling southbound. For unknown reasons, Jacuinde-Garcia failed to stay in his lane and entered the southbound lane. He then crashed into the Dodge head-on, causing his vehicle to catch fire.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced Jacuinde-Garcia and Vazquez dead at the scene.
 
A juvenile in the Dodge sustained severe injuries. Crews transported her to Desert View Hospital, where she later died.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. In addition, no other details are available.
