Victor Craven Jr., Julio Leal, and Pedro Ramirez Fatally Injured after Martin County Car Crash

 
MARTIN COUNTY, TX (April 2, 2024) — Officials identified 25-year-old Victor Craven Jr. as one of the three killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday, March 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the three-vehicle collision occurred on 20 Freeway at 7:26 p.m.
 
The Texas DPS said 19-year-old Maliyah Garcia drove a 2019 Nissan Sentra with one passenger on 20 Freeway. At the same time, a 2019 Ford Coachman driven by Craven Jr. was in the inside lane of the freeway.
 
While moving eastbound, the Nissan Sentra swerved into the Ford Coachman. It then caused the Coachman to veer into the center median. After that, it went through the cable barrier, and into westbound lanes of the freeway.
 
As a result, the Ford Coachman crashed with 34-year-old Miguel Chel-Sanchez operating a 2017 Ford F-250 that was moving westbound.
 
The Nissan Sentra also went into the center median. It hit a cable barrier, and the vehicle rolled over onto its left side. Paramedics rushed the driver and passenger to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
The Ford F-250 had two passengers. One of them was 51-year-old Pedro Alvarez Ramirez, of Midland, who died at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed 54-year-old Julio Lopez Leal to the hospital, where medical officers pronounced him dead.
 
First responders also pronounced Craven Jr. dead at the scene.
 
They also transported the Chel-Sanchez to the hospital with minor injuries.
