Roberto Rodriguez Fatally Injured in San Juan Car Accident

 
SAN JUAN, TX (April 2, 2024) — A man identified as 22-year-old Roberto Carlos Rios Rodriguez of San Juan died in a car crash on Tuesday, March 26.
 
According to the San Juan Police Department, the accident took place at the 300 block of West FM 495 near Raul Longoria Road at about 6:10 p.m.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rodriguez, the driver of an SUV, dead at the scene. His loved ones created a GoFundMe to help his bereaved family with the funeral expenses.
 
They also discovered the unidentified driver of a pickup truck unconscious. They transported him to the hospital in stable condition.
 
According to San Juan Police Chief Leandro Sifuentes, the initial investigation suggests that intoxication and racing may have played a role in the crash.
 
Sifuentes said they will continue to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the tragic event.
