Solumen Lopez and Vanessa Ramos Die in San Antonio DUI Crash; Marlon Daniels Detained

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 9, 2024) — 39-year-old Vanessa Ramos and her child died in a DUI accident on Wednesday, April 3.
 
According to the San Antonio police, the accident took place at the 20500 block of Stone Oak Parkway on Wednesday night.
 
San Antonio police said Ramos and her child 5-year-old Solumen Lopez, who was in a stroller, were on the south sidewalk of Stoke Oak Parkway. At the same time, an Audi Q50 driven by 56-year-old Marlon Daniels jumped a curb and crashed into a utility pole.
 
After that, the Audi continued down the sidewalk and hit Ramos and Lopez.
 
Responding officers pronounced them dead at the scene.
 
Police said Daniels traveled at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. In addition, they also found him impaired.
 
Authorities then arrested him on two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
