TYLER, TX (June 17, 2024) — A 61-year-old woman identified as Vanessa Hill died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 31 on Thursday, May 30.
 
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Adam Albritton, Hill tried to cross Highway 31 near County Road 24 at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Then a pickup truck moving east hit her in the roadway.
 
Albritton said responding officers pronounced Hill dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
 
The investigation of the incident is still underway. There are no reports if speed or impairment was a factor in the crash.
