Man Fatally Struck in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Freeway
HOUSTON, TX (November 7, 2023) — A man died after a pedestrian accident on North Freeway after an argument with his Uber driver on Friday, October 20.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred along the North Freeway at Rittenhouse Street, just before Little York at about 1:00 a.m.
Officials said the man was in an Uber when he began arguing with his driver. After that, he demanded to be let out of the vehicle after the dispute.
Police said once the Uber driver stopped on the side of the freeway, the man walked down the embankment. After that, he crossed the street where there was no crosswalk or sidewalk.
That’s when another driver struck him. He sustained fatal injuries and died.
That driver left. Then he returned later, after a significant amount of time. Police took him into custody. He did not show any signs of impairment.
The incident remains under investigation.
