Uber Passenger Struck, Killed by Vehicles on 10 Freeway in Houston
HOUSTON, TX (March 21, 2023) – Houston police confirmed that one person died in a car accident on 10 Freeway on March 17.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near 610 Freeway East Loop around 12:15 AM.
Based on a report, the Uber driver told officers that her female passenger tried to get out of his vehicle while he was driving on the freeway. Then, the driver said he locked the doors and pulled over to the right shoulder.
At that point, the woman jumped out of the vehicle through the side window and ran across the entrance ramp. Subsequently, a Ford F-250 pickup truck and several other vehicles hit her.
As a result, the 28-year-old woman died in the incident.
The driver of the F-250 stopped and waited for the police while the other drivers left the scene.
