MERCED, CA (November 10, 2022) — A two-year-old was hurt while Alexandra Ramirez was arrested after an alleged DUI crash on R Street on Friday night, November 4.

The incident occurred in the 3300 block of R Street, according to the Merced Police Department. Authorities said the 22-year-old Ramirez, who had the child in the car, drove with a missing front tire before dozing off behind the wheel.

The vehicle then slammed into a tree and overturned.

As a result, the child sustained minor injuries to the child, who had been restrained in an improper manner.

Officials stated that Ramirez’s blood alcohol content level went beyond the legal limit. In addition, she had no idea that she was driving with only three working wheels.

This led to her arrest for felony DUI causing injury, felony child endangerment, and felony hit and run.

The case is still under investigation.
