Two Men Die in Houston Car Crash on South Main Street

 
HOUSTON, TX (April 29, 2024) — Two men suffered fatal injuries in a car accident on South Main Street on Sunday, March 10.
 
According to the Houston police, a man drove a BMW at speeds over 100 mph on South Main Street near Fondren Road. Then he lost control, and the car veered the roadway at about 10:00 p.m.
 
After that, the BMW collided into a sign. The impact split the vehicle into two pieces.
 
Witnesses told authorities that the vehicle weaved in and out of traffic. It also cut off other vehicles prior to the crash. Investigators believe the driver attempted to take an exit about three or four lanes over when the incident occurred.
 
Responding officers pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics brought his passenger to an area hospital, where he also died.
 
HPD said there was no indication of alcohol at the scene. However, the ongoing investigation will include possible intoxication as part of the autopsy.
