Driver, Passenger Killed in Denver Car Crash on East 53rd Avenue and Dearborn Street

 
DENVER, CO (July 27, 2023) — Two men died after a car accident on East 53rd Avenue in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood on Friday, July 21.
 
According to Denver police, officers received reports of a vehicle that crashed into a tree at East 53rd Avenue and Dearborn Street shortly after 2:00 a.m.
 
Spokesperson Doug Schepman said the driver traveled west on East 53rd Avenue. Soon after, the car went off the roadway, crashed into a tree, and caught fire.
 
Schepman said the driver and his passenger died on the scene.
 
A tweet from the Denver Police Department said the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will release the identities of the victims.
 
Investigators continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
