Two Dead after Car Crashes into Truck on Eagle Drive in Mont Belvieu

MONT BELVIEU, TX (May 19, 2023) – The Mont Belvieu Police Department confirmed that a mother and daughter died in a semi-truck accident on Eagle Drive on May 17.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 565 around 11:30 AM. Based on a report, the truck was attempting to make a U-turn on the road prior to the crash.

Due to unknown reasons, the truck became stuck, blocking both lanes of traffic. At that point, the victim’s black SUV crashed into its trailer. The impact sheared off the top of their SUV.

As a result, a woman her 13-year-old daughter died in the incident.

A third passenger, a 2-year-old girl, was flown to an area hospital as a precaution. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
