Fatal Motorcycle Accident on West Prospect Street in Seattle; 2 Killed
SEATTLE, WA (September 4, 2024) – The Seattle Police Department confirmed that two men died in a motorcycle accident on West Prospect Street on August 19.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Queen Anne Avenue North at approximately 3:16 AM. Based on a report, one of the victims was driving a motorcycle eastbound on West Prospect Street at a high rate of speed.
Due to unknown reasons, he crashed into the side of a Seattle Fire Department (SFD) truck headed southbound on Queen Anne Avenue North.
As a result, the driver of the motorcycle suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. The passenger received aid from Seattle Fire Department (SFD) personnel and was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died. Both were men in their 30s but officials did not release their names.
No SFD personnel were hurt in the collision.
Police said the fire truck was responding to an emergency call and had its lights activated when the collision happened. The SFD truck had the right of way in the intersection.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
