Two People Fatally Injured in Houston Hit-and-Run on 10 Freeway

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 7, 2023) — Two people, including an 11-year-old girl, died in a hit-and-run crash on 10 Freeway on Sunday, November 5.
 
According to the Houston Police Department, the accident happened on 10 Freeway near Uvalde Road at around 1:52 a.m.
 
Investigators said it began at around 1:17 a.m. with a minor crash between two vehicles. This prompted the occupants of the vehicle to get out on the shoulder of the freeway.
 
The four of them stood near a retainer wall on the freeway. Then, a speeding vehicle struck them and overturned.
 
Police said the incident led to two fatalities.
 
In addition, paramedics transported two others to the hospital in critical condition.
 
Authorities said the suspected driver fled on foot. The driver left a 16-year-old girl in his vehicle at the scene. Investigators said she did not sustain any injuries and remained with police.
 
Authorities continue to look for the hit-and-run driver. However, they haven’t released a description of the suspect.
