Speeding Causes Fatal Crash on 47th Avenue at Northern Avenue in Glendale

 
GLENDALE, AZ (October 2, 2023) – The Glendale Police Department confirmed that two people died in a crash on 47th Avenue on September 26.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Apollo High School at Northern Avenue shortly after 4:00 AM. Based on a report, a 34-year-old woman ran a red light and hit another car that was traveling on Northern Avenue.
 
The woman was driving about 80 miles per hour at the time of the crash in an area where the speed limit is 25 miles per hour.
 
As a result, the woman and her 32-year-old passenger suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
One person in the vehicle that was hit was also hurt, but the injuries were minor.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
