Fatal Single Car Crash on 5 Freeway in Kern County

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (April 13, 2023) – The Kern County Sherriff’s Office coroner confirmed that two people died in a car crash on 5 Freeway on April 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Laval Road around 2:48 AM. Based on a report, the victims were in a Toyota 4-Runner with four others.
 
At the time of the crash, the vehicle was traveling on the freeway at an unknown rate of speed. Due to unknown reasons, it crashed on the lanes, ejecting all six of them off the roadway.
 
As a result, the two victims instantly died at the scene. Officials did not release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Emergency crews transported four other people to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
