DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Crash on Waxahachie Street in Houston

 
SMITH COUNTY, TX (June 13, 2023) – The Houston Police Department confirmed that two people died in a DUI car crash in the 7000 block of Waxahachie on June 6.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just east of Tyler around 4:00 AM. Based on a report, a man driving a white SUV was eastbound on Waxahachie at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he hit a power pole and then proceeded through an intersection with a stop sign. Subsequently, the SUV hit a black four-door vehicle going northbound on Boyles.
 
As a result, a man and a woman suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officers did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
In addition, a child was also hurt in the crash.
 
Police are looking into the possibility that intoxicated driving played a role in a crash.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
