Fatal Car Crash on Mariposa Road at Kaiser Road in San Joaquin County

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2022) – Police confirmed that two people died in a fiery crash on Mariposa Road on December 14.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Kaiser Road around 5:10 AM. Based on a report, a Dodge was driving eastbound on Mariposa at an unknown speed prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Toyota was driving westbound. For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into the front end of the Toyota. Then, the Dodge collided with a metal guardrail along the road before it became engulfed in fire with the driver trapped inside.
 
As a result, the driver died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries and also died at the scene. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
It’s not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. As of now, police ask anyone with information is asked to call the Stockton area CHP at 209-938-4800.
