Two Killed in Car Crash on Mariposa Road at Kaiser Road Fatal Car Crash on Mariposa Road at Kaiser Road in San Joaquin County SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2022) - Police confirmed that two people died in a fiery crash on Mariposa Road on December 14. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Kaiser Road around 5:10 AM. Based on a report, a Dodge was driving eastbound on Mariposa at an unknown speed prior to the crash. At the same time, a Toyota was driving westbound. For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into the front end of the Toyota. Then, the Dodge collided with a metal guardrail along the road before it became engulfed in fire with the driver trapped inside. As a result, the driver died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries and also died at the scene. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification. It’s not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. As of now, police ask anyone with information is asked to call the Stockton area CHP at 209-938-4800.
