BELLINGHAM, WA (January 6, 2025) – Authorities confirmed that two people suffered injuries in an accident caused by a falling tree on 5 Freeway on December 20.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 11:00 AM. Based on a report, a series of high wind gusts across western Washington knocked out power to nearly 70,000 at its height.
 
Due to the weather conditions, a falling tree struck the victims’ Jeep.
 
As a result, the victims suffered minor injuries.
 
Crews assessed the damage caused by downed trees.
