Two Killed after Torrance Plane Crash on Zamperini Field Airport
TORRANCE, CA (December 5, 2022) — Two people died after a small plane crash on Zamperini Field Airport on Wednesday morning, November 30.
The fatal incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. and involved a single-engine Arion Lightning aircraft, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Authorities said the pilot of the Arion Lightning made a landing attempt at the airport when the plane came crashing in a grassy area west end of the runway.
The crash killed the two people on board.
The cause and circumstances behind the accident remain under investigation. No other information is available at this time.
