One Person Injured, Three Vehicles Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 9

CORYELL COUNTY, TX (December 5, 2022) – A man was killed after ejecting from his vehicle due to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 9 on Monday afternoon.

A Chevrolet pickup, a 2008 Nissan Maxima, and a 1999 Dodge 1500 pickup were discovered when authorities arrived at the scene. However, the Texas Department of Public Safety did not release the identities of the people involved at this time.

Police said all three vehicles were driving onto Interstate 14 from eastbound Highway 9 when the Chevrolet attempted to avoid debris in the roadway. As a result, the vehicle slammed into the Nissan. After that, it crashed into the Dodge, causing it to spin and roll multiple times.

The Dodge driver was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened. Responders transported him to Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center, where he later died.

Other involved people were not injured, police say.

The accident is under investigation at this time. However, any witnesses are encouraged to contact local police with any additional information.
