Two Killed, Another Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Crash on 405 Freeway near Highway 522

 
BOTHELL, WA (September 18, 2023) — Two people died in a wrong-way car accident on 405 Freeway on Saturday, September 16.
 
The accident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway between Highway 522 and Northeast 160th Street.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver traveled north in the southbound lanes. Then it struck another vehicle head-on.
 
Both drivers suffered fatal injuries and died.
 
Paramedics transported one passenger – a woman – to the hospital for her injuries.
 
The circumstances that led to the wrong-way crash are not yet available. However, authorities closed the southbound 405 Freeway during the on-scene investigation.
