Virgilio Sibayan Identified in Fatal Accident on 35 Freeway in Lorena

 
LORENA, TX (September 18, 2023) – Officials identified 65-year-old Virgilio Sibayan who died in an accident on 35 Freeway on September 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around mile marker 325 around 6:30 PM. Based on a report, Sibayan was an occupant of a GMC Yukon traveling on the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Reports said the driver of the Yukon experienced a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle. The Yukon then went onto the service road and hit a Chevrolet Silverado before flipping over.
 
As a result, Sibayan suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Crews took the driver and three other passengers of the Yukon to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
