Two Hit, Killed in Accident on Highway 290 at Mason Road in Cypress
CYPRESS, TX (October 31, 2022) – Police confirmed two deaths following an accident on Highway 290 on October 28.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Mason Road around 5:10 AM.
Based on a report, a man was driving a vehicle east on the freeway with a man and woman as passengers. Due to unknown reasons, one of the passengers started assaulting the driver.
The driver then stopped the car and all three got out. Subsequently, an approaching truck hit the back of the parked vehicle, hitting both passengers.
As a result, Harris County Sheriff deputies said both victims died in the incident. Officials did not yet release their names pending kin notification.
The driver of the car and the driver of the truck suffered injuries but were in good condition.
The sheriff said there were no signs of impairment from either driver. As of now, the investigation is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
