Troy Garlock, Damarya Zyberi, and Child Dead in Mesa Head-On Accident
MESA, AZ (February 6, 2025) — 42-year-old Troy Garlock, 29-year-old Damarya Zyberi, and a girl, died in a crash on Monday, February 3..
The Mesa Police Department said the incident occurred just before 8:00 a.m. near Southern Avenue and Val Vista Road.
Investigators determined that a Ford F-250 previously reported stolen in Gilbert, veered left of center. Then it collided head-on with a Nissan Armada.
The impact killed Garlock, the driver of the SUV. Two young girls, aged 8 and 6, were in the backseat. Emergency responders rushed both children to the hospital, where the 8-year-old later died.
Zyberi, the driver of the stolen truck, also suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A third vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, was involved in the crash. However, its driver did not sustain serious injuries.
Authorities believe speed played a role in the incident.
