TUCSON, AZ (February 6, 2025) — 71-year-old Nihad Issa Ahmad Asad died in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, February 4.
 
According to the Tucson Police Department, the collision happened around 10:15 a.m. near Ajo Way and Forgeus Avenue.
 
Investigators said Asad drove a van and attempted to make a left turn onto Ajo Way. Then a black car struck his vehicle.
 
The impact left Asad with fatal injuries. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the black car, an 18-year-old woman, did not sustain injuries in the incident. She remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities confirmed she was not under the influence.
 
Police determined that Asad’s failure to yield was the primary factor in the crash.
