Tracey Koonrad Dies after Raymond Car Accident on Highway 101

 
RAYMOND, WA (April 1, 2024) — A 38-year-old woman identified as Tracey Koonrad, of South Bend, died in a car crash on Saturday, March 23.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 101 near Butte Creek Road at around 12:10 a.m.
 
WSP said Koonrad and her children traveled south on Highway 101 in Pacific County.
 
Troopers said the woman drove too fast for the conditions and lost control of the vehicle at Milepost 61. After that, she crossed the northbound lanes, went into a ditch, and lastly crashed into a tree.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Koonrad dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics rushed the two children – ages 11 and 9 – to Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen. Then they airlifted them to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
 
As of 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, WSP said the children were in critical condition in the intensive care unit. One of them, a girl, underwent surgery.
